1. What is the Livongo for Diabetes program?
Livongo for Diabetes is a health benefit designed to support those living with diabetes. The program combines the latest technology with coaching. This confidential, opt-in benefit is FREE to you and your family members with diabetes who are covered under an AECOM medical plan.
The Livongo benefit includes:
- Welcome Kit — Livongo blood glucose meter, 150 test strips, 1 lancing device, 100 lancets, control solution, AC adapter, USB charger and carrying case
- Unlimited supplies — have test strips and lancets shipped to you whenever you need them
- Personal coaching — interact with coaches by phone, email, text or mobile app (download from the App Store or Google Play)
- Online access — access your readings, along with graphs and insights, online or on your mobile device
2. How much does it cost to sign up?
The Livongo program is provided at no cost to employees and family members covered under an AECOM medical plan.
3. How do people with diabetes enroll in the Livongo program?
Registration can be completed online, through the Livongo app (download from the App Store or Google Play) or by calling customer support, available 24/7, at 800.945.4355.
4. What happens after I sign up?
Livongo will process your registration, send you a confirmation email and then ship you a Welcome Kit, which will arrive in approximately 3 – 5 business days.
5. How does the Livongo meter work?
The Livongo meter is a blood glucose meter with a color touchscreen, making it easy to use. The meter automatically uploads your blood glucose readings through a cellular connection to your private, online account and gives immediate, personal feedback.
6. How can I view my health information or trends?
After you check your blood glucose with the Livongo meter, it will automatically upload your readings to your personal online account. You can:
- Access the readings on your meter, at my.livongo.com or on the Livongo app (download from the App Store or Google Play).
- Download a Health Summary Report that can be printed or emailed to your doctor or health care provider.
7. How is Livongo data stored and secured?
All communications between the Livongo meter and Livongo’s Smart Cloud are over an AWS encrypted communication channel. Livongo’s program is end-to-end HIPAA compliant. Members can choose to share their information with family, friends and providers right from the meter via a secure link.
8. How do I reorder test strips?
Livongo keeps a record of the number of test strips you use. When your supply is low, Livongo will prompt you on the meter to order additional test strips. You can always call Livongo customer support to order additional test strips or via online in your personal account. Customer support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 800.945.4355 or online.
9. How does the meter charge and how long does it take to charge?
The meter can be charged through a USB port or from a wall outlet. It takes approximately 1 – 2 hours to fully charge the device. The charge lasts about 3 weeks if checking 4 times a day.
10. What clinical criteria does Livongo follow?
Livongo is accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). We uphold the American Diabetes Association (ADA) standards of medical care and follow the AADE 7 self-care behaviors curriculum. Our Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) team is comprised of dietitians, nurses and social workers.
11. Can I receive U.S. Well-Being points for using Livongo?
AECOM employees and spouses/domestic partners covered under an AECOM medical plan who register and complete their first blood glucose check earn 10 well-being points — after completing your first glucose check, it may take up to 45 days before your well-being points appear on the well-being platform. Check your glucose levels five times in a month to earn 5 well-being points (up to 4 times for 20 points).
12. Can my dependent child with diabetes use Livongo?
Yes, dependent children may use the Livongo for Diabetes program if covered under an AECOM medical plan. However, dependent children are not eligible for U.S. Well-Being program participation.
13. Is Livongo available in Spanish, too?
Yes, Livongo supports both English and Spanish.

15. Who can access my health information?
Other than you, Livongo coaches have access to your information so they can monitor your readings to provide you with relevant information related to your diabetes management. They will be informed when to reach out to you in the event of a glucose level that may require attention from a clinician. You also have the option to add a care team (physician, family members or others) to your profile and choose to share your health data with them.
16. Is my health information shared with AECOM?
AECOM has the highest respect for your privacy. Livongo will handle the information you provide with the utmost confidentiality. No one from AECOM ever has access to your personal health information and blood glucose readings. You are always fully protected by health privacy laws.
AECOM has the highest respect for your privacy. Please be assured that the U.S. Well-Being program is delivered in a safe, secure and confidential environment. AECOM is not privy to any aspect of your participation other than whether you qualify for any well-being rewards.
