If you work in the state of New York, AECOM is required to notify you of your rights under New York Paid Family Leave (NY PFL). Refer to the 2021 Statement of Rights for NY Paid Family Leave, including COVID-19 sick pay, for details.
Please note the following as they differ from the process described in the Statement of Rights:
- If you become ill due to COVID-19 or are unable to work because you are subject to a COVID-19 related mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation issued by the state or an appropriate governmental agency, please contact AECOM’s Nurse Hotline at 512.419.5016.
- Additionally, if you become seriously ill and cannot work from home, please call The Hartford at 866.262.7316 to apply for Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits. If you qualify for NY DBL, you will be paid NY DBL and STD benefits and concurrently be on FML if applicable. NY DBL will offset the STD payments.
- If you need to take off work to care for a seriously ill family member, or for baby-bonding, you need to also call The Hartford at 866.262.7316 to apply for NY PFL
- If you are unable to work in the office or work from home because your minor child is sick with COVID-19 or your minor child is subject to a COVID-19 related mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation issued by the state or an appropriate governmental agency, please call The Hartford at 866.262.7316 and ask to apply for NY PFL to care for a minor child.
- The Hartford is our insurance carrier that administers and pay NY PFL and NY DBL benefits and STD benefits.
In all cases, you will need to notify your manager as soon as applicable on the dates that you will need to take time away from work.
